Experience the best of cinema at Cinéma Français 2026

Once again, the Palm Springs Cultural Center plays host to Cinéma Français, a weekend film festival devoted to contemporary French‑language cinema. Curated by the Desert Film Society’s executive director, Beth Ellen Fromm the festival brings a concentrated lineup of new and award‑winning feature films and shorts from France (and French‑speaking regions), all screened with English subtitles for a broad audience.

 Originally launched in the late 2010s and returning after a brief Covid hiatus, Cinéma Français has become a vibrant annual highlight for film lovers, showcasing dramas, comedies, documentaries, and more from acclaimed filmmakers that might not otherwise reach local screens. 

Attendees at this celebration of francophone cinema can expect an engaging, communal vibe — discovering compelling stories and cinematic voices while enjoying the unique ambiance of the historic Camelot theatre in downtown Palm Springs.
